Rochester Brooks Practical Shooters (RBPS) is a part of Rochester Brooks Gun Club located in Rush, NY. RBPS is action pistol shooting club that is affiliated with The United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) and is a non-profit organization; USPSA is the organizing body for the sport of practical shooting in the United States. The USPSA is affiliated with the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), which is the governing body for the sport on a worldwide basis. In this sport you find some of the most exciting and proficient handgun shooting in the world.

Practical Shooting attempts to measure the ability to shoot rapidly and accurately with a full power handgun, rifle, and/or shotgun. Those three elements (speed, accuracy, and power) form the three sides of the practical shooting triangle. By design, each match will measure a shooter's ability in all three areas.

The sport focuses on safe gun handling and shooting proficiency in a practical course of fire format that changes every match. We host monthly matches at RBPS that usually consist of 4 different stages or courses of fire and anyone that is interested should review the schedule and attend a match to check it out.
